The Girl who saw a Flying Dinosaur
By Jonathan Whitcomb
This book has the true story of the
girl Patty Carson, who saw a living
pterosaur in Cuba in 1965. Six years
later, the U.S. Marine Eskin Kuhn
saw two of those flying creatures.
This book is for readers
between about the ages
of eight and fourteen.
Many people, around the world,
have seen a strange flying creature:
something appearing unlike any
bird, for it has no feathers. These
animals are also unlike any bat,
many of them having very long
tails. Some eyewitnesses report
a long beak, unlike any bat.
This 56-page nonfiction book is for
middle-grade children and those in
their early teens. Perhaps never
before has a book for these readers
been made available: real true-life
stories about ordinary persons who
have see astonishing animals that
look like “pterodactyls.”
Not extinct but LIVING!
This may be the first book of its kind
that was written for children and teens.
This is about real persons

These three young men were only boys when they saw the gigantic ropen at a crater lake on a jungle island.
This sketch was drawn by the eyewitness soon after the sighting
The sketch on the left was
drawn by the eyewitness
Eskin Kuhn, who saw the
two “pterodactyls” at the
military base where he
was a Marine in 1971.
He drew this sketch just
a few minutes after he
observed the two flying
creatures, and it is very
important to researchers.
The sketch on the cover of the book,
however, was drawn by the lady who
saw that living pterosaur in Cuba in
1965, when she was a little girl.
